As a content producer I find myself making updates to my blog posts. Perhaps I tweak the title, the meta description or even the text inside the post, and I want to be sure to convey those changes to social media platforms such as Facebook.
The problem that I often encounter is that Facebook has already cached the post, and the updates I make — specifically the title and description — don’t show when I go to share the post.
After being frustrated with this, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I learned in a few simple steps it was possible to clear the Facebook share cache.
The first step is access the Debugger tool that Facebook makes available for developers. Enter the URL of the post you want to clear the share cache on.
Fetch New Scrape Information
The next step is to fetch new scrape information. Enter the URL of the post you want to clear the share cache on.
New Cache Results
After fetching new scape information, you will now see what will be displayed when someone shares your post on Facebook.
