I am very pleased to announce Simplify Pro—a free minimalist theme down to the very core—designed exclusively for the Genesis Framework.
The environment we surround ourselves in can heavily impact the art we produce—and quite honestly, it should. Enter minimalism.
It’s no secret that over the past few years, my affinity for whitespace and simple design has elevated to undeniable levels. In fact, it has risen so high that I created No Sidebar—a blog about designing a simple life.
I am a firm believer that websites should be as simple as they need to be—while still functional and serving a purpose. I also think that, collectively, the Internet fails at this miserably.
Let’s just say that I have made it my mission to help clean up the web, and part of that campaign is providing minimalist themes for folks to use. Naturally, all of these themes are designed for the Genesis Framework.
Simplify Pro Theme
The first (free) minimalist theme that I created is Simplify Pro—which includes ample amount is white space and amazing typography.
Here’s a screenshot which shows just how simple the design is:

As you can see, the content column is quite narrow, which puts clear focus on the text. You may also notice the featured image that sticks to the top of the page as you scroll down—a small, yet effective, user experience.
I wanted to try something a bit different—because I have come to believe that different is better than better. Inspired, no doubt, by Sally Hogshead.
Speaking of different, you may also notice that the copy found on the Simplify Pro theme demo is real copy. I thought that designing the theme while pretending it was a real website was an interesting way to go.
The featured image on this post was even taken by me, and posted on Instagram—yes, my wife and I are huge fans of Chip and Joanna.
